In the summer we made a "staycation" in one of our absolute favorite hotels in Berlin, the Gorki!
Behind the inconspicuous entrance gate is a beautifully restored Wilhelminian style building
The stairwell exudes the spirit of bygone times
After check-in, it goes up to the room, the walk over the outside staircase is a highlight in itself
With kids in your luggage, a fully equipped kitchen is the absolute best! Now we are only on the romantic road as a couple, so we prefer to go to one of the great surrounding restaurants (e.g. the PeterPaul).
The kitchen and coffee machine are in the room, so Tanja has a coffee for the first time. They even thought of the milk in the fridge, chapeau!
Travel planning! At that time there was not yet our travel guide "Happy in Berlin", which we wrote for the Süddeutsche Zeitung. So what do we want to do today?

Everywhere there are details that will delight every aesthetic!
The completely green tiled bathroom is absolutely amazing!
But EVERY room has its own character. It is best to research your personal favorites online.
We are especially taken with the great combinations of colors, fabrics and patterns!
When we are out and about without kids, planning the day can be done in bed while relaxing.
... with a cup of coffee, of course.
And sometimes you can just stay "at home" in this wonderful setting 🙂
