Our 24 Hours in Ibiza City

When you go to Ibiza you should definitely plan on visiting the romantic town of Eivissa (Ibiza Town in Castilian), the main city on the island. Dalt Vila, the medieval part of the city, is even honoured as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Hedonistic and historic – Eivissa is a charming town, jam-packed with cafés, beautiful people, exciting nightspots, and trendy shops.

Sa Penya is a fabulous district, situated between the north walls of the old city and the harbour. It’s a labyrinth of cobblestone streets with some of the city’s best offbeat shopping and opportunities to explore. It’s easy to get lost in the little alleys, but that’s part of the fun! You’ll find lots of hippie-inspired clothes and delicious snacks on your way through.

Start with a cup of coffee or lunch at Guillemis and afterwards drop by the Museum of Contemporary Art. Enjoy some super delicious ice cream at Vivi’s Creamery. Go shopping at Kurru Kurru where you’ll find elegant fashions for women. You can find everything for the little ones at Moi&Toi. Mirage Beachwear sells beautiful jumpsuits and boho dresses and at B LONDON Boutique Ibiza discover luxurious items, great fashion, and high-end yoga mats. If you want to take some Ibiza flair back home with you, check out the eclectic home décor at Oliver Decoración. Men will find something at Onna Ibiza where they have unique shirts for him.

Our tip to increase your holiday anticipation before you even enter the plane is to buy some beautiful espadrilles at Alsen Ibiza‘s online shop, some funky embroidered suede boots at Emonk Ibiza online, and some nice swim shorts or bikinis at Frank Mojado.

In the evening, walk up Dalt Vila where you have a great view over the ocean and the city. Stop on the staircases of the colourful S’Escalinata bar on your way up and relax with a refreshing fruit juice or an ice-cold beer. La Mezcaleria also has great cocktails and tapas en route.

When it comes to food, Eivissa offers up a pretty diverse range and you need to watch out because many of them are tourist traps, but if you follow our recommendations, you’ll be smiling and happy while eating the best. Comida Bar San Juan is one of our favourite local spots. It’s a charming and authentic tapas bar where you get more bang for your buck than anywhere else on the pricey island. If you want a more elegant setting, enjoy a classic Spanish dinner at La Brasa seated in a beautiful garden (make a reservation in advance and try their paella!). For fresh and healthy cuisine with traditional Mediterranean and Asiatic touches, head to renowned La Oliva; it’s perfect for people watching or to celebrate a special occasion. For a unique bar experience head to Bar 1805, a spot that serves as an ode to absinthe and all the great minds that have been “inspired” by it. Oh and don’t forget to stop once in a while and kiss your husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend. Spread the love!

If you’ve had enough of the city centre, go visit some of the nearby beach clubs. All of them are close to the city and are inviting spots to relax, eat, drink, and work on your tan. El Chiringuito is great for families – your kids can have fun in the play area while you enjoy some drinks and food on one of the beach beds. Pure luxury! At the Beachhouse you can sip sangria, eat truffle mushroom pizza, and join the fiesta (especially on Sundays). Ushuaia is known for cool day parties, too. Last but not least, Experimental is just perfect to catch the sunset and offers a more laid-back, rustic feel than the rest of the beach clubs. Listen to the DJ’s sunset set until 1am every night while sipping a delicious cocktail.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in and around Eivissa, we can definitely recommend a few fantastic houses like Hotel Mirador, Boutique Hostal Salinas, La Torre del Canonigo, and Pure House Ibiza.

Enjoy your stay on the Balearic island and share your favourite spots with #npibiza! The best photos will be shared on our Instagram account.
