The Rooses are a wanderlust laden family of four. Chris and Tanja both work passionately for Nectar & Pulse and their two sons, Jonathan and Victor, come along on every journey, be it near or far. The Rooses love contrasts and discovering the world in all its different aspects. They are deeply in love with each other and their adventurous (and often crazy) life.

Our 24 Hours in Ibiza East

Spending two weeks in Ibiza gives you enough time to discover different parts of the island. Today we’ll explore the North and East parts of the island, with stop at various NECTAR & PULSE finds on the way. We start with a delicious brunch at one of our favourite cafés called Paloma. This garden café/restaurant offers homemade organic delicacies at their best. It’s located in San Lorenzo, a little village right in the middle of the island.

Next we follow a recommendation from the locals. They told us about a very traditional fish restaurant in a small hidden bay, so that’s our next stop. And what a nice surprise it turns out to be!

It’s truly an experience to visit El Bigotes. An absolute legend. Here you’ll eat the best “Bullit de Peix con Arroz”, cooked for hours in a huge pot over an open fire by one of the family members who run the restaurant. At around 2pm they serve the fish stew with rice – it’s the only meal on the menu so choosing is easy 🙂 . You definitely need to make a reservation in advance because it’s a very popular spot, with locals and travellers alike (0034 650 797633). Our son Jonathan loves it!

After this delicious meal it’s time for a swim so we head to S’Aigua Blanca, known for the colourful parasols, the nudist area, and the healthy mud masks. On our way back we stop at the Ibiza Salt shop and at Ses Escoles. Ses Escoles is a beautiful restaurant with a small integrated shop where we buy some bottles of Ibizkus, a delicious rosé wine. In the evening we head up North to Cala Benirras where they often give bongo and guitar concerts that lend the whole beach area a unique charm.

Dinner is at Aubergine. This fantastic restaurant is run by Ibiza born and bred Yolanda Torres and Victor Guasch of Atzaró. Those two share a passion for healthy eating and laid-back dining and they’re a delight to meet. Aubergine is so much more than ‘just’ a restaurant, it’s an experience! We love their farm-to-table concept, the tasteful interiors, and the relaxed vibe. Their kids play area is great as well if you’re travelling with little ones.

Enjoy Ibiza! It’s such a cool place (and not just for party animals).

What’s your background?

We are a family of four currently based in Berlin but we love to go on adventures near and far. Tanja (with both Swedish and Austrian roots) started Nectar & Pulse in 2010. Chris (originally from Hamburg) and Tanja met in 2011, fell in love, got married, and became parents to their beloved kids, Jonathan and Victor. Chris worked for BMW and holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering but switched over to working at Nectar & Pulse in 2015. We are soulmates with a shared love for family, business, travel, transformation, fashion, music, exceptional hotels and wonderful places made with love. From luxury trips to getting up close and personal with nature and locals, we love it all. Come along and follow us! ☺ We love to show you the world from our perspective.

Oh so many, but mostly the tiny little moments in between, when we realise we’re living the life we always dreamed of.
