The Cortisen is a boutique hotel with very personal charm! Owner Roland Ballner is himself a connoisseur par excellence and knows how to let his guests enjoy the good life in a variety of ways. In addition, there is the unique location of the hotel: directly on the lake and with a view of the unique mountain panorama of the Salzkammergut.

THE NECTAR

The Cortisen is as unique as only an owner-managed boutique hotel can be. Bright colors, modern interiors from all parts of the world and creative details that actually don't fit to the stereotypes of the region, the Salzburger Land. The Cortisen likes to be different and that is also evident in the rooms & suites, where none are the same and now even the boathouse on the hotel's own jetty has been expanded with an exclusive suite.

Owner Roland Ballner is the headstrong force that holds this world of wellbeing together in its innermost being. He places the highest demands on cuisine and enjoyment in its most diverse forms of expression. A day at the Cortisen begins with the exquisite a la carte breakfast and if you like it, you can either get active afterwards and go water skiing in the hotel's own motorboat or enjoy the view of the lake in peace with another cappuccino.

THE PULSE

With the expanded SPA area completed in 2021, you have every reason to spend the whole day in the hotel. You can choose between the sauna in the boathouse with a breathtaking view of the lake, the spacious fitness room or the new pool with its proud 25 meters (!), which provide plenty of space for sport swimmers as well as wellness guests. The Lake Wolfgang and its surroundings offer nature lovers and sports enthusiasts the most beautiful activities from hiking, rowing boats to race cycling. Afterwards, the tired muscles can be wonderfully loosened again with a massage in the garden pavilion. One of our personal highlights is the via ferrata that leads directly along the rock face above Lake Wolfgang! If thats too adventureous, Roland is happy to rent you his own Harley Davidson for a tour through the mountains! ☺

The real zenith of enjoyment follows in the evening, when a fantastic multi-course dinner is served in the Cortisen. International cuisine is offered with regional products, which are regularly awarded by Gault Millau and Falstaff. "International" does not mean mainstream cuisine, but authentic, real flavors and tastes that the chef tastes through with a critical mind. This includes a particularly exciting, because unusual, wine list that makes you want to try it. If you want to reflect on this memorable day again, we recommend a leisurely night walk to the lake and a subsequent visit to the sophisticated cigar lounge at midnight with a glass of Pinot Noir or while playing billiards.
